We’re officially known as an RSA-Authorised CVRT test centre. For those who don’t know, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) is the primary body in road safety in Ireland, one that oversees all testing of this type across the country.

One of the many types of testing service that we offer is the truck & trailer CVRT, which as the name would suggest, is designed to ensure a basic set of safety standards for commercial trucks and trailers.

We are looking for qualified vehicle testers for STANDARD CVRT, HCV CVRT and LCV CVRT with a salary in excess of 40k depending on experience.

If you’re using a commercial vehicle in Ireland, you’ll require a Certificate of Roadworthiness (CRW) - something that you’ll need to renew every 12 months. To obtain your CRW, your vehicle will need to undergo a CVRT, which examines all the visible parts to ensure it’s safe to be used on the road.

When you’re running a commercial vehicle over a year old on Ireland’s roads, LCV or HCV CVRT testing is an official requirement in order to drive legally. Conducted in order to determine whether the vehicle in question is safe to be driven, it’s something that needs to be conducted every 12 months.

CVRT stands for Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Tests and they’re designed to ensure that any vehicle used for business on Ireland’s roads is roadworthy. This commercial vehicle test is one that applies to all goods vehicles, goods trailers and fast tractors used commercially, in addition to ambulances and buses that carry more than 8 passengers.

Here we look at Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Testing, which exists to ensure that LCVs with a gross weight in excess of 3,500 kg are safe for road use. Within this group of vehicles, you’ll typically find commercial jeeps and light vans which have their own specific roadworthiness test.

There are various cars on Ireland’s roads that have speed limiters and from 2022, they will be fitted to all new cars. Their primary role is to prevent vehicles from exceeding a set speed and when in place, the driver remains in complete control of their vehicle, limiting acceleration when required.

The tachograph is one of the most important pieces of equipment for HGV drivers, as it ensures that they don’t drive longer than is safe on Ireland’s roads. Internally storing driver, vehicle and geographic data and on the driver’s card, a tachograph is a highly technical device that requires regular calibration.

Vehicles become modified for a whole host of reasons - some even being altered before they’re officially registered. For example, an owner may want to convert their 4WD passenger car to a commercial vehicle, simply by taking out the safety belts and the back seats. Even though this is a relatively minor change, it still requires vehicle modification engineers reports to be created.

SQI is actually an abbreviation of the term Suitable Qualified Individual and the report in question is what’s known as a revenue declaration of conversion. There are a number of common situations where this documentation becomes applicable

Essentially, compliance plating is typically required when an internationally manufactured car is imported into Ireland. Rather than being something that replaces a foreign number plate, it’s actually a small metal plate that indicates to Irish registration authorities that the vehicle in question has demonstrated compliance with ADR regulations.

There are a number of things that Large Goods Vehicle (LGV), Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) and Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) drivers need to do to remain compliant and legally drive on Ireland’s roads. From HGV PCV to daily walk-around checks, these obligations are there for a reason - to keep everyone on the road safe. Another such obligation are seat belt certificates.

Annual HCV testing is an important component of Ireland’s mechanism for ensuring that all heavy goods vehicles are safe on the roads. However, responsible HGV operators complement this annual check with daily walkarounds and 12-week maintenance inspections carried out by companies like ours.
