Want to Know If You’re Due a CVRT Test? No Problem, It’s Easy!

When you’re running a commercial vehicle over a year old on Ireland’s roads, LCV or HCV CVRT testing is an official requirement in order to drive legally. Conducted in order to determine whether the vehicle in question is safe to be driven, it’s something that needs to be conducted every 12 months.

Once a car, van or lorry has passed all the necessary checks, which typically involves examining all the vehicle’s visible parts, a Certificate of Roadworthiness (CRW) is issued, remaining valid until the next test that’s due in a year’s time. What this doesn’t represent, however, is any kind of warranty as to the condition of the vehicle.

Not Sure If You’re Due?

If you’re unsure in any way as to when your HCV CVRT is due, don’t worry as finding out only takes a few clicks of your mouse or taps on your smartphone’s screen. By visiting the Road Safety Authority’s website via this link and then entering your registration number in the box provided, you’ll get the answer you need immediately.

After purchasing a used commercial vehicle, you’re never going to have more than 12 months until your next obligatory test. You shouldn’t hesitate if it is due, however, as there’s nothing to be gained from delaying having it carried out and failure to do so could result in penalty points and fines.

The good news is that booking your CVRT couldn’t be easier for anyone in the Dublin area, as you can either call us or click on the ‘book now’ button on our website. Upon receipt of your enquiry, we’ll endeavour to find a mutually acceptable time and date for your test.
