When operating LGVs, HGVs or indeed, any type of vehicle that’s built on the chassis of a goods vehicle on Ireland’s roads, you need to have a Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (CVRT) conducted every year. Failing to do so can result in heavy fines.

If you’re using a commercial vehicle in Ireland, you’ll require a Certificate of Roadworthiness (CRW) - something that you’ll need to renew every 12 months. To obtain your CRW, your vehicle will need to undergo a CVRT, which examines all the visible parts to ensure it’s safe to be used on the road.
